
Tilsa Pattee joined the JFK, Jr. Institute in 2004. As a Parent Peer Mentor, Ms. Pattee aided in recruiting and retaining families for the CUNY Youth Transition Demonstration Project. In September 2006, Ms. Pattee was asked to take on the responsibilities of a Parent Advocate at a new site located in the Bronx. Ms. Pattee is now also responsible for developing curriculum for the Saturday program. Prior to joining the JFK, Jr. Institute, Ms. Pattee was self employed as an art designer for 15 years. She also instructed weekly courses on how to develop a successful business. Ms. Pattee finds working side by side with families of children with disabilities to be extremely rewarding and is happy to have made the career change. She is currently participating in the Disability Studies Certificate Program at Lehman College.
