Karla Perez joined the JFK, Jr. Institute as a Benefits Advisor in 2008. Ms. Perez has years of dedicated work experience with youth and adults with disabilities. While pursuing an Associate degree in Child Development from LaGuardia Community College, she worked with children with disabilities at The Whitestone School for Child Development. Ms. Perez also worked with youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders at Herbert G. Birch School for Exceptional Children as an ADL instructor. While working as a Behavior Instructor at AHRC’s Early Learning Center she went on to pursue her bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts from CUNY’s Center for Worker Education at City College of New York. Prior to joining the Institute, Ms. Perez worked with youth and their families providing mental health services at a community organization in the South Bronx. In 2009, Ms. Perez completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Touro College.
