
Osmin Sullivan-Hewitt became a Kennedy Fellow in 1998 and joined the JFK, Jr Institute staff in 2007 as the Director of Workforce Development. As the director, she oversees the Kennedy Fellowship program and the disability studies programs. Prior to joining the Institute, Osmin had an extensive career at YAI-National Institute For People With Disabilities as a program supervisor. Ms Sullivan-Hewitt was responsible for overseeing a large Day Service Program for individuals with developmental disabilities. She also pioneered a special curriculum based program for individuals who were dually diagnosed and presented challenging behaviors. Osmin holds a bachelor's degree from Brooklyn College in Elementary Education and a master's degree in Social Work from Hunter College. She plans to pursue a doctoral degree in the near future.
