Timothy Meade Tuition Award Luncheon
Timothy Meade Award LuncheonOn October 23, 2009 the Institute organized a special luncheon for recipients of the Timothy Meade Tuition Award.  Timothy’s sister Tracy and her husband, Robert, represented the Meade family.  The Timothy Meade Tuition Award was established in 2005 by the Meade family in honor of Timothy Meade, a young man with disabilities.  The tuition award is granted to students in the Graduate Certificate or Master’s in Disability Studies program who exemplify a personal commitment to the disabilities field.

The School of Professional Studies 2009 Commencement was held on June 9, 2009 at the Graduate Center.  The ceremony recognized 14 graduates from the Graduate Certificate in Disability Studies program.  Dr. Louise Mirrer, President and CEO of the New York-Historical Society was the keynote speaker.  Additional speakers included CUNY Chancellor Matthew Goldstein; John Mogulescu, Dean of the School of Professional Studies; and Brian Peterson, Associate Dean of the School of Professional Studies.
